Rose made her way to the last room where Ralph was just finishing up. Mandy was sound asleep in the car seat which had been moved to the middle of the reassembled bed. Rose was delighted to have a bigger room with a large window and he had thoughtfully bought her another dresser so when she was finally able, she would have a place for Mandy's stuff. There was even a new television on top of her old dresser so she could watch it from the bed. She had no idea where the big chair occupying the corner had come from until Ralph told her he had bought it so she would have somewhere comfortable to feed Mandy. He had also managed to fit the crib, change table and diaper hamper in the room.
Leaving Mandy to sleep, they wandered out to the living room. "Ralph, I can't believe you are doing this for me."
"Rose, you've had a really shitty time with mom and since things have been really good for me, this is the least I can do. When Mandy wakes up, we can go grocery shopping so there's something in the fridge to eat. I don't cook very much."
